How Does Screen Sharing Technology work?

You will be instructed by the technician on how to download a small file (1.5MB). Once you have downloaded the support utility you will see a field with a 9 digit ID. You will give this 9 digit ID to your technician so that they may initiate the remote support session. Once the connection is made the we can evaluate and fix your problem just as if we were sitting right in front of your computer. Once the support session is over the program is completely uninstalled from your system. The technician will lose all visibility and will not be able to access your computer anymore. In order for another support session to take place you would have to run the remote support program again to initiate the connection.

Is it safe to let someone control my computer?

Yes, It's completely safe. Unlike a conventional computer repair shop where you drop off your computer and "hope" that they will fix it, with our service you will be able to watch and be involved with everything the technician is doing throughout the process of repairing your system. You can stop the support session at any time by right clicking on the support icon in your system tray at the bottom right by your clock. Once the support session has been terminated the connection is broken and the support program is completely uninstalled and removed from your system. The technician will not be able to access your computer again unless you download and run the support program again.

Our remote support program includes full encryption, based on RSA private-/public key exchange and AES (256 Bit) session encoding. This technology is based on the same standards as https/SSL and is considered completely safe by today's standards.
(Plain English:The key exchange guarantees a full client-to-client data protection and is widely used by banks and the US Government.)

How long will it take to fix my computer?

Every computer problem is different, some problems take longer to fix than others depending on the issue. Spyware / Virus issues can take anywhere from 3-6 hours to fix depending on the infestation and how many files need to be scanned on your computer. You will be charged one flat rate upfront no matter how long it takes.

A wireless network lockdown would take about 30 minutes. Simple configuration issues like email set up or printers would be around 15 minutes.
